In the group of today's top intellectuals in Croatia, the name of Žarko Paić was noticed, a very productive and dynamic intellectual who initiates effective actions in the field of culture. Here we should mention his role in starting the literary magazine Tvrđa, which enriched and dynamized literary production in Croatia. Žarko Paić is primarily a thinker, a philosopher, but he also writes prose and poetic texts with great enthusiasm. His book Opako ljeto is a collection of poems in which he takes a lyrical view of global events in today's world. The collection was written under the influence of today's modern production in the world, especially American poetry. In Croatia, the book was a notable success, regardless of the extreme hermetic nature of the included poems.
