Sklop i petlja: Što je preostalo od arhitekture?
2019.
Description
In the fourth volume of Paić's "Technosphere", the question of space and spaciousness in the contemporary conditions of technological society is considered using the example of architecture, which has always had a special place in the history of philosophy and art, considering its connection with human existence. In an extremely inventive way, the author devotes himself to the interpretation of key thinkers of modernity who addressed the issue of architecture and spatiality, as well as to the interpretation of a number of theoreticians of postmodern and contemporary architecture, as well as the architects themselves. At the same time, the author's basic position is that the difference between the artistic construction of cities and the corporate-deconstructive approach to non-places (stadiums, airports, shopping centers) proves to be decisive for the future leveling of the relationship between architecture and design. Paić's radical thesis is that the modern age no longer needs architects, but can rely on the simple application of "already seen" in the context of modern technological society. This work is an attempt to understand, in dialogue with the philosophy and theory of architecture, the world that is shaped by the contact between the world of life and technology.
