Description
In the first volume, "Sacrifice and Boredom: Animal-Man-Machine", a project for the implementation of a comprehensive ontology of the digital age, a five-volume book entitled "Technosphere", Žarko Paić deals with philosophical and cultural, structural and cybernetic anthropology, theory of information and communication, analysis of posthumanism and transhumanism, philosophy of biology, reexamination of the metaphysical heritage of all basic categories of the West ranging from battle, being, being, will, life, existence, consciousness, corporeality with regard to the emergence of the possibility of creating a changed genetic and informational structure of battle in general. Paić's radical position is that the era of the metaphysical image of the world, according to which there are insurmountable differences between battle and time, nature and culture, animal and man, world and machine, has passed. In the term technosphere, every distinction between living and non-living is abolished, and it is about the "immanent transcendence" of life, which is no longer anything natural or artificial, but is created technogenetically as an autopoietic system. In a credible way, the author created a new hybrid language for circuits and events of the technical world, connecting diverse experiences from phenomenology, poststructuralism, visual semiotics to media philosophy. Bringing into the philosophical discussion the essential problems and questions of our existence in collision with the great transformations of knowledge and technology that affected societies and cultures at the end of the 20th century, there is no doubt that "Technosphere" can be read as a diagnosis of the spirit of the times in which we live, on the border of the worlds of metaphysics and cybernetics, with the hope that we can preserve traces of humanity despite the inevitable technologization of language and thought.
