THE UNCANNY: Contemporary Art and Its Theory has been published

The main themes and aims of the book are understanding the aesthetics, art and technosphere complexity, starting with the techno-genesis of the virtual worlds, not from the metaphysics of the beautiful and the sublime. Thus, the book deals extensively with the problems of contemporary art theory such as the body in space and time of digital technologies, then the theory of a new image (visual studies and Bildwissenschaft), new media and aesthetics. The book’s basic thesis is that entering into the era of total visualization of the world marks the end of the metaphysical idea of the durability of the Being in the works of art. Rather, it is all about signing and overlapping new life worlds, a new way of the construction of artificial life with which we can no longer look at art and aesthetics as the contemplation of the object, but only as of the power to create new relationships between autonomous objects and imagination.
